TERC is pleased to announce that we will have Mayor Dane White as the featured speaker at our upcoming meeting on Monday, August 17th. Dane is running for re-election as Escondido Mayor.
Dane was elected to the Escondido Union High School Board in 2016, where he worked diligently to secure the fiscal position of the Escondido Union High School District while still making needed investments in facilities, teachers, and academic success. Dane served as Board President, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Unlike many districts that succumbed to bitter in-fighting and confrontation between parents and teachers, Dane managed to bring folks together and develop a plan that worked for everyone. Crediting his leadership on this issue, Dane won the unlikely support of the Escondido Secondary Teachers Association in his 2020 re-election campaign.In 2022, Dane was elected as the youngest Mayor of Escondido. As Mayor, he has focused on homelessness, public safety, supporting small businesses, and fixing our roads and infrastructure.He is running for re-election to continue focus and work on homelessness, public safety, affordability, small business and roads and infrastructure.
The meeting will take place at J&M’s Family Restaurant from noon to 1 pm.
